The Youth will be participating in First Fridays throughout the summer to raise money for their summer trips. They will be selling drinks and baked goods and painting faces in front of Heritage Home. The Youth will meet at UUMC at 4:30pm to set up and end at 9:30pm to tear down. Youth must show up to receive funds.

It’s time to sign up again to help with Mega Sports Camp, UUMC’s 3rd annual summer outreach day of sports and other fun events for the whole family. July 26th, the last Saturday in July, is the date for MSC (Mega Sports Camp) at Urbana’s city park. The entire park is reserved for UUMC volunteers to give free, authentic sports instruction to children of UUMC AND children in the community, ages kindergarten through 6th grade. So far, this year we have the following head coaches committed: Bob Cawley for basketball, Kim Hollar for soccer, Jill Michael for cheerleading, Krissy Lawrence for dance instruction, Gaye Carafa for volleyball, Justin Lawrence for baseball and Dave Pierce for football. We still need a head coach for baseball. There will also be planned a cookout and swim party immediately after the sports camp for the entire family. Many additional volunteers will be needed for assistant coaches, huddle coaches, volunteers for safety, registration, cooking the food, clean-up, and go-fors (people to be runners for errands).

No, it’s not the famous high kick dance team you may have seen in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but it does involve rocking in a rocking chair. The count of babies in our Sunday morning nursery at 9:15 is growing. The nursery is looking for adult individuals to commit 1(one) Sunday a month (more if you like) to be in the nursery. The only responsibility you will have will be rocking babies and toddlers and to be an extra set of eyes for other nursery volunteers. Contact Jody Daniels at 937-405-8265.

We have begun our financial stewardship campaign to raise the monies called the 20/20 Vision Project. Pledge cards have been mailed out, or you can pick them up here at church. You are asked to prayerfully consider giving/pledging beginning now. We will be updating weekly or as often as possible. The total project has been set at $270,000.00 and will hopefully begin in late July pending the availability of contractors. Join us in this exciting project. Please note that our giving for the 20/20 Vision needs to be sacrificial and above our normal giving for General Budget. God bless us as we give.
