We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21st in both services. Please prayerfully attend these powerful moments the Sunday before Christmas as we partake of the Lord’s Supper.

We will once again believe God for a miracle love offering for the SUDAN Project partnering with Ginghamsburg UMC this Christmas Eve at both of our services. GUMC have raised over 5 Million dollars over the last five years!!! The need is greater than ever with the devastating war that still ravages the Sudan.
Last year’s Christmas Eve Love Offering was $30,000.00 here at Urbana UMC!! We are challenging the whole church, in spite of difficult economic hardships, to believe God for another miracle. Please sacrifice this Christmas and give 1-2 less gifts and donate that money to starving children in the Sudan. Over 25,000 children die daily due to starvation. May God show us what’s really important.

There will be a birthday party honoring Jesus on Saturday, December 20th from 2-4pm in the CORE. There will be a movie, crafts, and of course…birthday cake! Any child between the ages of 3 & 10 are invited to attend. Ask all of your friends & we will see you there!

The kids choir will be performing “Angel Alert…The Night That Heaven Came Down” on Sunday, December 21 at 6:30pm.

The WhereHouse is in need of Macaroni & cheese and toothpaste this month. Please help fill the barrels during the holiday season!

The church is ordering poinsettias to be placed in the Sanctuary during the Christmas season. If you would like to order a poinsettia, please include a message, $15 and place it in the offering plate or the box located in the front lobby. The deadline to order is December 17th and poinsettias will be available to take home on the 24th after the Christmas Eve Services.

Every year we bless our local fire, police, Sheriff, nursing homes, Caring kitchen, gas stations, emergency room at the hospital and others with a gift of Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve. After each of our services on Christmas Eve, people take these cookies to those who are unable to attend church because of their circumstances. If you would like to donate cookies, please bring them in by December 23rd to the church office. Thanks!!

The mission team is planning to have a Hat & Mitten tree during the month of December. The hats and mittens that are collected will be distributed to local elementary schools and given to the children in need. Please bring children’s hats, mittens, gloves or scarves to fill the tree. The tree will be located in the main hallway.
