Relationships

“Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came.”

Life is about love. We’re offered a lifetime to learn how to do it.

From the original small group - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - to the early Christians meeting from “house to house”, we are taught the importance of coming together, sharing our lives and loving one another. An essential piece to learn how to love the way God wants us to is belonging to a small group.

Small groups are about real relationships. Hang out with believers and seekers on a regularly, ask questions, eat snacks and most importantly, build lifetime (and beyond) relationships.

Small group hanging out together

Here you’ll find small groups in the Urbana UMC family that are meeting regularly. Take a look through the catalogue for groups relevant to your season in life and get into one.

Start a Small Group

Hosting a small group simply requires your hospitality, showing a video and leading some discussion – simple as that! You can host a small group out of your home, or if that isn’t an option, you can coordinate with the church office for room availability and scheduling. Most small groups meet once a week for around 1½ to 2½ hours. For details on how to get your group started, get in touch with our Director of Discipleship & Outreach.
