What We Believe
We are a transforming Christ-centered community empowered by God’s Spirit to demonstrate, develop, and deploy mature, faithful followers of Jesus Christ. We believe as Christians we can be a prayerful and powerful New Testament Church in our time.
We believe:
- Christians should pursue intimacy with God and full devotion to Christ (Great Commandment, Matthew 13:44-46).
- the pursuit of biblical truth and prayer is essential for spiritual health and growth (Matthew 4:4)
- Christians should seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for daily living and effective service (Acts 2:1-4)
- in the importance of corporate worship and its place in honoring God and benefiting people (John 4:23)
- excellence honors God and inspires people (Proverbs 22:29)
- the church should operate as a loving community of servants having been equipped by leadership empowering them to minister through their spiritual gifts (Ephesians 4:1-12)
- small groups facilitate building vital relationships with other people (Acts 2_46-47b)
- we must reach the lost – from our neighbors to the unreached of the world (Great Commission, Matthew 28:19-20)
- the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure (I Cor. 9:19-23)
- in expressing God’s love to the poor and needy in tangible acts of kindness (Duet. 15:7)
- in the health & success of families and marriages (I Tim. 5:8)
- in the importance of children and youth and in the development of their spiritual capacity (Matthew 19:14)
